It Is Illegal To Withhold Grade 7 Results Over School Fees, Minister Warns Schools

Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Professor Paul Mavima, has warned primary schools that are still holding onto Grade Seven results of over arrears in school fees that it is illegal to do so. Some parents have complained that they are unable to get form one places for their children because they do not have the results.

Said Mavima:

Such an act is against the law. School authorities must be in agreement with parents on how they are going to sort out the outstanding fees. This should not affect the child’s education in any way.

Prof Mavima said schools should work with parents to come up with payment plans instead of withholding results.
