Former Finance Minister Ignatius Chombo has approached the Magistrates Court seeking a relaxation of his bail conditions which he says are affecting his farming.
Chombo’s application was heard before Harare magistrate Ms Josephine Sunde on Friday afternoon. Through his lawyer Professor Lovemore Madhuku, Chombo said his original reporting conditions where he reports three times daily throughout the week were no longer applicable as he is a family man who since the loss of his government and political office now relies on farming for a living.
In a telephone interview with ZBC News, Professor Madhuku said they are seeking a review of Chombo’s reporting conditions to once a day between Monday and Friday. Magistrate Sande is expected to give her ruling over the application on Monday the 8th of January 2018.
