Body Found In Zambezi River Identified

Officer Commanding Victoria Falls District, Chief Superintendent Jairos Chiwona, confirmed that they have identified the body of a man found floating in the Zambezi River last Thursday as that of Mr Jameson Tshuma (70) who was reported missing after he left home on December 22 saying there were people who were after his life.

His body was found on Gorge number 11 in the Zambezi River by rafters on Thursday. The police said they did not suspect any foul play. Said Chiwona:

I can confirm that the body that was found in the Zambezi River has been identified. Initially family members could not identify him, but his wife later came and she was able to identify him. We do not suspect any foul play. The deceased had a mental challenge, he would see visions of people chasing him. We strongly believe it was the illness that made him jump into the river and there won’t be a post mortem.

Mr Tshuma was buried in his home area, Binga, on Sunday.
