Chiwenga And Mohadi To Be Sworn In As Zimbabwe's Vice Presidents

Retired General Constantino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi will be sworn in as Zimbabwe’s Vice Presidents at State House today. This was confirmed by Acting Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Retired Colonel Christian Katsande.

Said Retired Colonel Katsande:

In terms of Section 14,sub-paragraph 2 of the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, upon assuming office, must without delay appoint not more than two Vice Presidents, who hold office at his or her pleasure.

Accordingly, His Excellency the President Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, has duly appointed Honourable General (Rtd) Dr Constantino Guvheya Dominic Nyikadzino Chiwenga and Honourable Kembo Campbell Dugishi Mohadi as Vice Presidents of the Republic of Zimbabwe. The swearing-in will be held at 1000hrs on Thursday, 28th December 2017 at State House, Harare.

Chiwenga and Mohadi were last Saturday appointed Zanu-PF Vice Presidents and Second Secretaries of Zanu-PF. Presidential Press Secretary George Charamba said the appointments were done by President Emmerson Mnangagwa after extensive consultations.
