General Constantino Guvheya Dominic Nyikadzino Chiwenga, as Vice President and Second Secretary of the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front, (ZANU-PF).
Hon. Kembo C.D. Mohadi, MP, as Vice President and Second Secretary of the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front, (ZANU-PF).
The party appointments are with immediate effect.
General Chiwenga recently resigned as the Commander of the Defence Forces (CDF) to enable him to take his new appointment. Chiwenga becomes the fourth general to join government and politics after Retired Air Chief Marshal Perrance Shiri, Retired Lieutenant-General Sibusiso Moyo and Retired Lieutenant-General Engelbert Rugeje. Shiri was appointed Ministers of Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement while Moyo was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. General Rugeje, on the other hand, was named the Zanu-PF Secretary for the Commissariat, replacing former Minister of Local Government Saviour Kasukuwere. Critics have accused President Mnangagwa of rewarding the military generals with senior government posts for leading the military intervention codenamed Operation Restore Legacy which ultimately resulted in the fall of former president Robert Mugabe and the ascendancy of Mnangagwa to the presidency, after Mnangagwa’s political career had appeared over when he was fired from both the government and the Zanu-PF party by Mugabe.
The appointment of Kembo Mohadi will definitely be used by followers of Malawian self-proclaimed prophet Shephard Bushiri as evidence of his accurate prophesying powers. This comes as Bushiri made a “prophecy’ in November 2016 that Mohadi was going to receive a “crown” representing a promotion at work as well as wealth.
Here is Bushiri’s prophesy on Mohadi
This is a developing story and will be updated as we receive more information.
