Mnangagwa Reveals How He Managed To Escape From Mugabe

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has spoken on his escape from his former boss Robert Mugabe. There were reports that Mnangagwa had gone into hiding after he received death threats.

Mnangagwa skipped the country after he was fired by Mugabe and went to South Africa. Reports in the private media said that Mnangagwa drove to Forbes Border Post where he was prevented from leaving by the police and immigration officials. He only managed to escape via Marymount border control post, after negotiating with soldiers from 3 Brigade.

Speaking in South Africa where he met the country’s president Jacob Zuma and the newly elected ANC leader Cyril Ramaphosa before holding a business conference with investors, Mnangagwa confirmed the version that he escaped via the border. He said he was fired at 4pm and crossed the border by 9pm. He was then picked up from Mozambique by businessman Justice Maphosa who is the owner of Bigtime Strategic Group which sponsors the annual Gwanda Gospel Fest and was once the sponsor for Miss Tourism Zimbabwe before his fall out with the Mzembis.
