Finance deputy Minister Terence Mukupe has revealed that some individuals who externalised foreign currency made efforts to donate to Zanu-PF to avoid prosecution and jail time.
This comes after President Emmerson Mnangagwa issued a three-month ultimatum last month for those who externalised funds and assets to bring them back into the country or face prosecution. Said Mukupe:
People who externalised money are known, as the President has said before. Some people were making phone calls to try and donate things to the party. But we said we are sufficient.
