Video: Wicknell Chivayo Denies That He Was Arrested, Contradicts Own Lawyer

Controversial businessman, Wicknell Chivayo has released a video in which he denied that he was arrested on Sunday. The flamboyant high-living businessman said that there was so much hatred in the country, and accused people of jumping to conclusions because his phone was unreachable and because he was off social media

This directly contradicts what his lawyer, Advocate Thanbani Mpofu, told the Daily News. Mpofu said that his client had been detained although he was not sure whether it was the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) or the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) who were responsible for his arrest.  Mpofu also said that he was frantically trying to establish where his client had been taken.
