Chombo and Chipanga to sue Mnangagwa’s Govt

Ignatius Chombo and Kudzanai Chipanga’s lawyer, Lovemore Madhuku, has said that his clients will sue President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Government if it does not apologise and offer them compensation for the period they were detained by the military.

Madhuku told VOA that his clients were tortured while they were in military custody. Said Madhuku:

What next lawfully is that we first expect that the government will come and tell us that, ‘look, we were sorry we did this and here we are offering compensation.’ They must apologize to our clients and then offer to pay them compensation for the period of unlawful detention. But if they do not do that we will take them up on that issue at the same time we will take it into account when this matter is going to be taken up.

Chombo is charged with fraud, corruption and abuse of office during former President Robert Mugabe’s tenure, while Chipanga is accused of causing disaffection among the Zimbabwe Defence Forces.

  1. …and when are the two “prisoners’ would also apologise to the whole nation at large for killing the economy and trying to tore our country apart?

  2. When will chombo apologize to us for stealing money from rbz to pay his mosad snippers to destabilize our peace. We also need compensation from him for giving Grace and Robert tax payers money when we needed that money in banks
