The Military Takeover Was Justified, Meant To Preserve "Captured" Mugabe's Legacy: Mpofu

Minister of Home Affairs Obert Mpofu has said that the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) were justified in launching Operation Restore Legacy, because former President Robert Mugabe’s legacy was under attack after he was captured by the G40 Faction.

Speaking to heads of departments and parastatals, Obert Mpofu, who used to sign some of his correspondence to Mugabe with the valediction “your most obedient son,” said:

The legacy of our former president Robert Mugabe, a revered statesman and one of the founding fathers of our nation was under attack.

Political clowns, charlatans and cheats had squirmed their way into higher echelons of the party.
