Citizens Will Be Able To Report Corruption Directly To President's Office Toll Free

It looks like President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government is serious about corruption. This afternoon in his budget presentation to parliament, the Minister of Finance Patrick Chinamasa announced that the government is setting up a toll free telephone number in the president’s office for people to report on corruption.

Zimbabwe has been riddled by corruption since independence with increasing magnitude and number of corruption cases every year. The current government is under pressure to show that they are decisive in dealing with this endemic problem if they are to attract the much needed cooperation and support from the international community.

Not only the international community is watching, more importantly all Zimbabweans are watching to see if there will be a real change in how leaders operate.
