Tich Mataz summoned over 2012 fraud case

Star FM programmes manager Tichafa Augustine Matambanadzo populary known as Tich Mataz, has been summoned to return to court over fraud charges first raised in 2012. Mataz is accused of defrauding Star FM of over $60,000 by diverting advertising revenue to two companies’ Hamtec and Onesay Investments, which he reportedly owned.

He would allegedly inform clients that Star FM did not have the capacity to produce certain programmes and would then introduce himself as the company’s agent through the two companies he reportedly owned. Mataz would create documents using Star FM letterheads misrepresenting that the radio station had authorised his two companies to secure advertisements on its behalf.

Mataz is expected to appear before a Harare magistrate in January next year.
