War veterans leader and new Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Service, Christopher Mutsvangwa, has claimed that he was the reason why businessman, Strive Masiyiwa, was able to get the telecommunications licence for Econet Wireless. According to Mutsvangwa, he is the one who tipped off Masiyiwa to the fact that the tender process was flawed and corrupted. The information was later used by Masiyiwa to challenge the tender process at the High Court. Mutsvangwa also claimed that he is one who brought the intert to Zimbabwe.
