After President Emmerson Mnangagwa First Cabinet was announced, the consensus of the majority seems to be that they were expecting so much more from Mnangagwa after he promised to usher in a new dispensation. However, there is a minority which also believes that Mnangagwa should be given time to prove himself, regardless of the fact that people may have been disappointed with the new cabinet.
Here is how people responded.
Journalists
Military in govt. Mnangagwa's new 'command' Cabinet militarises key Lands & Foreign Affairs ministries. Mpofu, Chinamasa, Dokora, Parirenyatwa have been retained. Many had believed the President would have selected a cabinet that reflected a new vision, and a break with the past pic.twitter.com/6y2hnk4iYK

Drop Strive Masiyiwa's name as leader of the opposition right about now, and the junta won't even know what hit them #Won'tHappenThough

President Mnangagwa’s Cabinet is very disappointing. Largely the same people that caused this crisis have been recycled. The honey moon comes to an end and reality dawns. His concern seems to have been rewarding those who brought him to power and Zanu-PF unity. #Zimbabwe 👇🏿 pic.twitter.com/pGDz5t9EAH

I have told myself Pres Mnangagwa has appointed this #ZimNewCabinet to appease those who helped him get to where he is & will reshuffle it if & when he wins the 2018 elections

ZANU-PF had it easy when they were sorting their succession issues. Opposition foolishly joined the circus and are only realizing now what it means with the “new” cabinet https://t.co/OPLltHcv47

Politicians
Up until now , we had given the putsch the benefit of the doubt . We did so in the genuine , perhaps naive view that the country could actually move foward. We craved for change , peace & stability in our country . How wrong we were.

So General SB Moyo who announced the "intervention" on ZTV & misled the world by claiming it wasn't a coup, is one of the commanders in the #CoupCabinet as Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Trade. Even #Nigeria didn't have so many commanders in Cabinet in its coup days! pic.twitter.com/7daEBnRcVH

After the "new" cabinet, the sensation of hope that had been born from the post Mugabe era, has just been extinguished. I can not say too much.

Allow me to start by applauding all the new ministers, I do pray that they will work progressively for Zimbabwe.
Where I am certain that we are home and dry, is in the Ministry of Lands and Agriculture. The Air Marshall is a competent farmer, a discipline man and he is practical— Sabhuku Temba P. Mliswa (@TembaMliswa) December 1, 2017
If you have a 37 years old battered car with termite-infested seats, worn out tyres & a knocked engine–called Zanu PF–after 37 years of poor service by Stockholder Garage who claim to own the car whose experienced driver is 93 years old: would you replace the driver or the car?

From the announced Cabinet I believe the big news is not on what was announced but on what was not announced. Who are the two VPs? Umm🤔. The template has been set so there is no prize for guessing one of them.

The President has appointed a smaller& unbloated Cabinet that is blended with new & younger faces as well as broad based expertise&experience. There are also many workhorses that hv been put in the Cabinet. Thank u Cde President for the Workaholics Cabinet. Basa ngarirohwe sebasa!

Looks like ED has made a real dog's breakfast of that cabinet selection. I know he had a limited & poor pool of Zanu PF MPs to choose from, but the five non-constituency ministers could've been better picks. Hopefully a new boss, a new work ethic, but otherwise underwhelming.

Here we go again, many in the opposition ranks already celebrating. "We are back in the game. This shite ED cabinet decampaigns Zanu PF. It's a major boon for the oppo," they say. My advice: forget names & personalities. Judge the recycled gang on results. It's a results game.

Zimbabwe, you are right to feel betrayed. On 18 November, we ALL came out on the streets, united as a people around a common vision of a new Zimbabwe. This Cabinet does not represent a new Zimbabwe but the entrenchment of the old failed political elite. Aluta continua! pic.twitter.com/hf5LTpq5u3

Much ado about nothing
mnangagwa is a clone of mugabe he is the same dictator zims are in the same bus what changes is the driver there will be no change in zim the solution is to vote zanupf out they are the some devil that destroyed the economy of zimbabwe zanupf thugs has used this to blind people to belive the some devil down with zanupf
once a devil always a devil zanupf is always the ecil economic killer we know this was a coup surely these devil called zanu must go how long are zimbos going to be fooled these thugs have stolen farms they join politics to protect their loot a snake is always a snake the gukurahundist will always be the gukurahundists mnangagwe is a worse devil than uncle BOB
The truth of the matter is that, ED must be surrounded by people with Zimbabwe at heart. He has already open an avenue to re-engage EU, USA and this does not need coalition government. He needs experienced people as the party is gearing for a free and fair election. Ministers from the opposition party were not a guarantee that the of the economic turnaround of the country would be easier and smooth, therefore lets give this team a chance
If you think you can vote Zanu out of power you bluffing they will probably rig as usual so you better pray ED has heart and does his best to make these ministers useful otherwise hapana kwatiri kuyenda
WELLDONE ED.
Criticism will never end. The decision to reduce cabinet , Ammending laws of land, The policies coming up to ensure restoration of a stable currency , Reopening of companes that were closed during RG’s era, Reconnecting to the friends accross the borders and continent, compensation of white farmers all these make a difference. Anyone operating on a good platform of solid policies is likely to perfoam. Thanks ED ,just ignore those that enjoy barking at a momemt when they in fact failed to do what you have done so far in two weeks. Lots of love
