Human Rights Watch Southern Africa director Dewa Mavhinga claimed on Twitter on Thursday that the military had released Ignatius Chombo at his house after days of detention only for him to be arrested by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) law and order.
Chombo was said to have been detained after a firefight at his Harare home last week where Temba Mliswa said he was arrested and found with $10 million cash. Said Mavhinga:
Soldiers tonight dropped off minister Chombo at his house after days of military detention. Law and order police then arrested him and said they were taking him to Rhodes Police Station (in Harare).
