Chihuri booed at Mnangagwa's swearing in ceremony, Here's how people reacted on Twitter

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Commissioner General Augustine Chihuri was booed during the swearing in ceremony of President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Chihuri was booed while pledging his allegiance to the new leader.

The booing maybe associated with the police attempt to arrest Zimbabwe Defence Forces commander Constantino Chiwenga when he arrived from China. There is also a narrative that Chihuri was against Chiwenga who is viewed by many as a hero after the military intervention led to Robert Mugabe’s resignation on Tuesday. Chihuri was reportedly arrested for his alleged links to G40. Another reason why people booed him could be that police are regarded as as corrupt.
