Former first lady Grace Mugabe became infamous for her rather acerbic tongue and penchant for humiliating senior government officials and party leaders at public gatherings. Here are some of the people who found themselves on the receiving end of the former first lady’s wrath.
1. Kazembe Kazembe – September 2017
Kazembe Kazembe was the vice chairperson of Zanu-PF Mashonaland West, and assistant to Saviour Kasukuwere’s brother Dickson Mafios. He was dressed down for attacking Saviour Kasukuwere and for being presumptuous in trying to replace Mafios as the chairperson.

2. Ray Kaukonde – 17 October 2014
Former first lady, Grace Mugabe blasted former Mashonaland East Provincial Chairperson Ray Kaukonde at a rally in Marondera. Kaukonde was accused of pretending not to know who was behind factionalism in his province. He was also accused of backstabbing the first lady and of speaking ill of the first family when they were not around. He was also accused of abusing his position as chairperson.

3. George Charamba – July 31, 2017
The former first lady used a Zanu PF Youth Interface Rally in Chinhoyi to attack the presidential spokesperson, George Charamba, for using the State-controlled newspaper, the Herald as a platform for attacking ministers such as Saviour Kasukuwere and Jonathan Moyo. He was advised to cover Grace’s philanthropic works instead.

4. Joice Mujuru
(a) Dotito Demons – November 2014
Grace Mugabe attacked then Vice President Joice Mujuru claiming that she was only interested in her own personal enrichment and said that she had demons from Dotito, her home area.

(b) Queen Bee – 17 February 2017
At a rally in Buhera, Grace attacked former Vice President Joice Mujuru and called her a “Queen Bee” among other names. Grace gave a graphic and enthusiastic description of how bees mate in order to buttress her point.

5. Emmerson Mnangagwa
(a) Mudhara Achauya
Then Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa was accused of referring to himself as the long-awaited leader who was to come. Grace said that while dancing to Jah Prayzah’s hit song, “Mdara Achauya”, Mnangagwa had been pointing to himself with his thumbs.

Peeved that Mnangagwa had claimed that he had survived an attempt to poison him, Grace came out guns blazing saying she had no reason to kill Mnangagwa as her was just an employee of her husband.
