ZOU Graduation On Today, May Answer Questions On Mugabe's Stay

The Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) will be holding its graduation ceremony today. The ceremony will take place at the ZOU Main Campus in Hatcliffe. As President Robert Mugabe is the chancellor of the University, the event may help clarify whether Robert Mugabe is still in power or not. Mugabe is negotiating with the military generals from the Zimbabwe Defence Forces on a way forward after the military seized power from Mugabe in the early hours of Wednesday. The military is emphasising that this is not a coup d’etat as it is only targeting the “criminals around the president” who had caused untold suffering to Zimbabweans because of their corruption.

If Mugabe presides over the ceremony it could indicate that he has refused to resign as some reports have indicated. However, other reports have said that Mugabe has agreed to step down in principle.  However,  what remains is to finalise the exit package.
