Venezuela Strongly Condemns The Military For Coup, Calls For “Respect” of the Constitution

The government of Venezuela has condemned the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) for seizing power from President Robert Mugabe. Venezuela called the military’s actions a coup although the ZDF itself has insisted that this is not a takeover of the government inisisting it is only interested in targeting the “criminals around the president” who have caused untold suffering to Zimbabweans through their corruption.

In a statement tweeted by Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza, Venezuela said:

Venezuela energetically condemns the rupture of the constitutional order in the Republic of Zimbabwe by a sector of the military.

The government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela calls for the immediate restoration of the democratic institution and the respect for the Constitution.

  1. Venezuela – please #speaktothehand what the eff, these people need to be freed from the tyranny of a dictator, this man should step down, this is not a democratic country – and if this is the only way it gets done, then good at least there are people prepared to stand up against him for the people and his bunch of generals !

  2. Dictator Maduro has continued the destruction of Venezuela from where his predecessor and mentor, Hugo Chavez left off. A solidarity message from one unwanted dictator to another.
