South Africa Should Grant Robert Mugabe Political Asylum To Ensure Peace in Zim: EFF

South African opposition party the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has called on the South African government to grant political asylum to President Robert Mugabe after the military took over power in Zimbabwe. Mugabe confirmed to his South African counterpart Jacob Zuma that he was under house arrest.

The EFF whose leader Julius Malema has been highly critical of Mugabe’s decision to hold onto power for 37 years said:

He must be allowed to come to South Africa so that a peaceful transition can indeed take place.
