Form Own Party: Chimedza Dares Mnangagwa's Suspended Allies

Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs Dr Paul Chimedza has dared former Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s suspended allies to form their own party.

Chimedza warned Zaka North ZANU-PF legislator Robson Mavhenyengwa and his Zaka Central counterpart Paradzai Chakonato alleged Mnangagwa’s allies to stop conducting party business and consider forming their own party if they are not happy with the party’s decision to suspend them.

The duo is among 30 senior party officials from Masvingo who were served with prohibition orders to stop conducting Zanu-PF business because of their suspected links to former VP Mnangagwa. Said Chimedza:

_We have one centre of power in ZANU-PF in President Mugabe. President Mugabe said anyone against the one centre of power principle is free to leave the party._

_Those who are opposed to the President should form their own political parties and we will meet them in the 2018 harmonised elections._

Mnangagwa was fired for alleged insubordination to the president, Robert Gabriel Mugabe and is believed to have escaped the country’s borders.

His departure left the ZANU PF faction he was supposedly leading, Lacoste (Ngwena) in disarray and at the mercy of another faction Generation 40 (G40) whose alleged kingpins are Professor Jonathan Moyo, First Lady Grace Mugabe, Minister Kasukuwere and Tourism minister Walter Mzembi.

Tensions have heightened in the ruling party over the party a few months over the succession issue after the 94-year-old Mugabe had indicated plans to run for another term in the upcoming elections slated for 2018.
