Macheso Cancels Album Release, Says It's Not Up To Standard

Veteran Sungura musician Alick Macheso has cancelled plans to release his album this year citing that the work produced so far is not up to the usual high standards. Macheso had promised his fans that he was going to release his 11th album when he released his last album, “Tsoka Dzerwendo.” Macheso promised to have an album ready around March next year.

Said Macheso:

I don’t know how to say this to (my fans). I’m upset because I’m unable to produce the album as promised. I know the pain it will cause to our fans since they were looking forward to the project. I sincerely apologise.

I have recorded and mixed all the songs. Nziyo dziripo kutaura kuno (tracks are there as we speak) but I’m not convinced. If I’m doubting myself, it means it won’t sound good to the listeners’ ear.

What you produce today has a direct bearing (on) your future. It will either raise or affect your career for years to come.
