Minister of State for Mashonaland West Province, Webster Shamu has advised his Zanu-PF colleagues who have been either expelled or suspended not to fight back against the system. Instead, he urged the party members to be humble and to beg for forgiveness. This comes as former vice president Emmerson Mnangagwa has promised to come back to lead the country as soon as he gets control of state levers in a couple of weeks. Mnangagwa is now facing the possibility of treason charges.
Shamu was speaking from experience as he was also expelled from the party in 2014 for supporting former Vice President Joice Mujuru. Mujuru lost her position in the party and in Government, only for the same thing to happen to her successor, former Vice president Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Shamu took his punishment and paid his penance for his imprudence and was rewarded with a ministerial appointment in the last cabinet reshuffle.
Addressing the Mashonaland West Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC), Shamu said:
I accepted the ruling made by the Congress, Central Committee, Politburo and President Mugabe and l still stand guided by that. Kana wapiwa chinzvimbo hauna kunzi pakata, ramba uchizvininipisa usati uri shasha vanogara vachidaro vaMugabe. (When you are given a position don’t be bold, remain humble that is what President Mugabe is always saying).
Mashonaland West Province has recommended the expulsion of former Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Ziyambi Ziyambi and Prisca Mupfumira from the party.
