South Africa to extend Zimbabwe permits application deadline
South Africa is expected to extend its application deadline for Zimbabwean Exemption Permit (ZEP) to alleviate congestion at offices dealing with applicants. Home Affairs Director General Mr Mkuseli Apleni is expected to make the announcement tomorrow.
In a statement on Wednesday, South Africa’s department of Home Affairs said they would extend the permits application following over subscription at their offices. The statement reads:
Home Affairs Director-General Mkuseli Apleni will present a progress report on the application process for the new Zimbabwean Exemption Permit (ZEP) and announce the extension of the period for permit applicants to finalise their applications, in person, at VFS offices. The DG will reflect also on the project’s challenges, including alleviating the congestion that ZEP applicants are experiencing at VFS offices.
