Prof. Moyo Accuses NRZ Board Chairperson of Treason For Delivering “Fugitive” Mnangagwa’s Press Statement To Reporters

Professor Jonathan Moyo has accused Larry Mavhima, the chairperson of the board of the National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) of treason for delivering a press statement written by his nemesis, former Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa to newsrooms. Moyo has been constantly attacking Mnangagwa and his programmes for the last twelve months and is reported to be the chief strategist who orchestrated Mnangagwa’s downfall. Moyo also accused Mavhima of being a front for Mnangagwa at Hanawa Foods. He also claimed that Mnangagwa was now a fugitive who was hiding in the luxury of a five-star hotel in a foreign country.  In the statement, Mnangagwa claimed that he had fled the country and gone into exile because there were threats to his life.  However,  he ironically added that he was not going anywhere as Zanu-PF did not belong to Mugabe and the first family.

Writing on the microblogging website, Twitter, Moyo said:

So the so-called ED Press Statement issued today, which has a poor scan of his signature, was personally delivered to newsrooms as an advert by Larry Mavhima who chairs the NRZ Board & who fronts for ED at Hanawa Foods. This makes Mavhima an accessory to treason!

The difference between a Press Statement issued by a fugitive in the luxury of a 5 Star hotel in a foreign country & Zanu PF is like that of day & night. Zanu PF is the people whose one centre of power is Pres Mugabe who has asserted the people’s authority!

Moyo also alleged that Mnangagwa’s signature was scanned onto the document although he clarified that the fact that the signature was scanned did not mean that it was a forgery at all.
