Zanu-PF Masvingo recommends expulsion of alleged Mnangagwa allies, other provinces to follow suit

Barely 24 hours after the Youth Interface Rally in Bulawayo, Zanu-PF Masvingo Province has recommended the expulsion of alleged allies of Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Josiah Hungwe, Lovemore Matuke, Ezra Chadzamira, Paul Mangwana and Mhere among others. At the Bulawayo Youth Interface Rally President Robert Mugabe said that he was unhappy with Masvingo and Midlands Provinces and dared the provinces to leave and form their own parties. Perhaps, due to this, Masvingo convened a Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) meeting which recommended the expulsion of the senior leaders.

Acting Masvingo Provincial Chairperson Amasa Nhenjana said that contrary to some reports, the people of Masvingo did not follow Chadzamira and crew, but instead were only following them because they were President Mugabe’s representatives. Nhenjana said that the officials needed to be removed so that Zanu-PF could regroup and prepare for the 2018 elections as Masvingo intended to retain all 26 seats.  He also said that in case Zanu-PF loses some seats, Chadzamara and company would claim that they were the ones who had the power, so Zanu-PF needed to regroup as quickly as possible.

Other provinces will also be holding meetings today, and it is expected that Mnangagwa’s allies may find themselves in similar situations.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more details come in,
