Harare businessman Energy Mutodi has disowned the Facebook page that alleged that Defence Minister Dr Sydney Sekeramayi and Health Minister David Parirenyatwa are behind Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s poisoning. Mutodi said this while opposing Parirenyatwa and Sekeramayi’s $40 000 defamation lawsuit for the allegations.
Through his lawyer Mr Charles Chinyama of Chinyama & Partners, Mutodi denied operating the Facebook page. Said Mutodi:
It is denied that the defendant operates a facebook page under the name ‘Energy Mutodi’. It is denied that such a facebook page can be ascribed to the defendant neither was it opened at the instance of the defendant who denies any links with it. It could be that some other person (s) unknown to the defendant have opened such a page using the defendant’s name and photograph. He knows not whether the contents of such an article are true or false and only the first and second plaintiffs and the alleged victim of poisoning are in a position to shed light on the truthfulness or otherwise of the article.
