Zanu-PF deputy chairperson for Masvingo province Amasa Nenjana, told Daiky News that senior officials in the province do not respect newly appointed Masvingo Provincial Affairs minister Paul Chimedza because they suspect him of being a member of the G40 Faction. Masvingo is dominated by Team Lacoste which supports Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Said Nenjana:
hey are fighting the Provincial Affairs minister; they don’t respect him. The party leadership knows that the Provincial Affairs minister is a hardworking man but we have some people who do not want to respect him for factional reasons. This is not good for our party; some of us are former soldiers; we learnt to respect our leaders. The Provincial Affairs minister was appointed by the president because he knows that he is up to the task.
When contacted for a comment by Daily News, Chimedza who is also the legislator for Gutu South was diplomatic about the issue.
