Zanu-PF Youth Leader Chipanga accused of attempting to block Grace's rise to the Vice Presidency

Zanu-PF Youth League secretary Kudzanayi Chipanga has reportedly been accused of attempting to block first lady Grace Mugabe’s ascension to the  vice presidency by resisting efforts to amend the party constitution at the coming Zanu-PF Extraordinary Congress. Chipanga who has made a name for himself through constant boot licking at party events is also being accused of being a member of Team Lacoste, the faction which is supporting Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa to succeed President Robert Mugabe. Chipanga is reported to have faced the charges at the ongoing International Festival of Students and Youth in Sochi, Russia.

A source who spoke to NewsDay said:

There are major disagreements and things boiled over in Russia where Kudzi Chipanga clashed with political commissar Innocent Hamandishe, among other G40 (aligned) youths. They accused Chipanga of being Lacoste (a faction linked to Mnangagwa) and frustrating their efforts to push through a resolution demanding the re-introduction of a woman in the praesidium.

Chipanga is accused of not playing ball, but the issue is the purported resolution is being pushed on factional lines and through the back door.
