CAPS United game abandoned after assistant referee gets injured, Bulawayo City progress

The match between Shabanie Mine and CAPS United which was played at Maglas Stadium was abandoned before the final whistle after the far side assistant referee was hit by a flying missile and got injured on the eye.

The match was called off in the 65th minute when CAPS United supporters started throwing missiles in protest of a disallowed goal which was judged to have been scored from an offside position.The scoreline was standing at 1-0 in favour of Shabanie Mine.

Shabanie had went into the lead in the  43rd minute through William Mapfumo who scored a header from a corner kick. John Zhuwawo equalised but the assistant referee waved offside resulting in CAPS’ supporters throwing missiles in protest.

Meanwhile, Bulawayo City beat Yadah 1-0 at Barbourfields Stadium through Ishmael Wadi’s goal in the 84th minute.
