A taxi driver, Mr Cliff Chioza was murdered by a gang of 7 armed robbers who then proceeded to rob Mr Rabson Sibanda who is a money changer. They robbed Sibanda of R30 000. Both incidents occurred in Beitbridge.
Sources close to investigations told The Chronicle that the suspects attacked Chioza who was reportedly using a Honda Fit as a metered taxi after they hired him to an unknown destination. After killing Chioza they drove his vehicle to Sibanda’s house and laid an ambush for him as he got out at around 2AM. The vehicle was later found dumped at Engen Service Station.
In a hospital bedside interview at Beitbridge District Hospital, Sibanda said that seven men attacked him with knives.
