Govt suspends duty for fertilised poultry eggs

Government has suspended duty for fertilised eggs through Statutory Instrument 124 of 2017 published in the latest government gazette.

Six poultry companies have been removed from paying duty on imported fertilised eggs for hatchery. The companies are Irvine’s Zimbabwe, Supa Chicks, Chinyika Chicks, Dr Henn, Zim Avin and All Avian. The provision is expected to last six months as Government seeks to rebuild the poultry sector following the adverse effects of avian influenza.
