Mpilo Central Hospital goes 3 days without electricity

Mpilo Central Hospital has gone three days without electricity after roots from one of the trees interfered with the cables.

Speaking to The Chronicle, the hospital’s chief executive officer Mr Leonard Mabandi said that they have been relying on generators while a source who spoke on condition of anonymity said that the hospital’s generators have ran out of fuel. The source also said that patients in the maternity ward had to be transferred to United Bulawayo Hospitals in case of emergencies. Zesa Western Region manager Mr Lovemore Chinaka said the fault was internal hence his company could not comment.
