Jabulani Dube (50) a businessman from Gwanda and his two sons Mthulisi (23) and Jaentisa (21) appeared before Gwanda magistrate, Mr Willard Maphiso Moyo on Tuesday facing charges of stock theft. The trio was denied bail and remanded in custody to the 28th of September. They are being accused of stealing 50 cattle which they then slaughtered at Sundowns abattoir in Plumtree. They were arrested after collecting money from the abattoir after police received a tip-off.
Fifteen carcasses were recovered at the abattoir and brand marks on their hides had been tampered with.
