Harare International Airport to be renamed in honour of President Mugabe

The Harare International Airport will be renamed to RG Mugabe International Airport with effect from 9 November 2017.

Addressing Zanu-PF members in Chinhoyi during a rally, the party’s youth secretary Kudzanai Chipanga threatened not to invite ministers to next year’s 21st February Movement celebrations next year if Harare International Airport is not renamed after President Robert Mugabe.

Said Chipanga:

I am repeating what I said in Plumtree some weeks ago, that senior members of the party and ministers will not be allowed to attend the 21st February Movement celebrations next year if the Harare International Airport is not going to be named after Mugabe before the celebrations. The youths demand renaming of the airport and this must be done as a matter of urgency.

In August this year, Mugabe’s birthday was declared a public holiday.
