Stanbic Bank teller Samuel Mapuranga (32) was fined $100 for sending nude pictures of himself through WhatsApp to a married client.
Mapuranga pleaded not guilty to sending by phone offensive or grossly obscene messages when he appeared before Hwange magistrate-in-charge Mrs Rose Dube who convicted him and ordered him to pay $100 or 10 days in jail if he fails to pay the fine. The court heard that the complainant called Mapuranga on his mobile before visiting him at Stanbic Bank on October 3 where she sought assistance on how to access money sent by her brother from Italy.
The following day Mapuranga allegedly started proposing love to the complainant on her WhatsApp number and requested for her pictures. The complainant refused and Mapuranga sent ponographic pictures on October 4. The woman told her husband about the issue and he advised her to report the matter to the police. Mapuranga was arrested three days later.
