MDC-T youth leader sues Jonathan Moyo over tweet, files $500 000 lawsuit

MDC-T youth leader Shakespear Mukoyi filed a $500 000 defamation lawsuit against Higher Education minister Jonathan Moyo, claiming that he accused him in a tweet, of attacking MDC-T vice-president Thokozani Khupe, Abednico Bhebhe and Lovemore Moyo in Bulawayo two weeks ago.

Part of the tweet read:

Shakespeare Mukoyi, an MDC-T youth leader, was in the group that violently attacked Thokozani Khupe, Abednego Bhebhe, Lovemore Moyo and others.

Through his lawyers, Mavhunga and Associates, Mukoyi states that the tweet was made with the intention to defame and injure his reputation. Moyo is yet to respond.
