Kwese TV is here, Econet announces special for signing up

Kwese TV is now officially in Zimbabwe and decoders are available at Econet Shops. Econet has announced a special rate for those who sign up.

According to Econet Wireless for $49 you get the following:

  • Dish
  • Decoder
  • Installation
  • 1-month subscription

The subscriptions, which we are yet to confirm, are as follows:

  • Monthly subs $29
  • Weekly subs $9
  • Three Days $5

Kwese TV allows payment in the form of bond notes, EcoCash as well as hard cash.  This will be welcomed by many subscribers, as customers of DStv have been facing difficulties in making payments. Kwese also offers 60 channels. However, it does not have the full rights to the English Premiership and will only be able to screen the Saturday afternoon match.

Update (24 August): Econet has since suspended the sale of the Kwese decoders after the BAZ announced that Kwese TV does not have a valid broadcasting licence.
