Lerato Moyo (30) of Gwanda allegedly axed her employer’s mother, poisoned her own two children and committed suicide after an altercation with her mother. The two children were aged six and two while the employee’s mother was 80 years old. The two children are still at Mpilo Central Hospital where they are reported to be in stable condition. But the senior citizen has been discharged.
The employer, Benjamin Nyathi, said:
I was not around so I can’t narrate what really transpired. What I know is that before she drank the poison, she axed my mother, who is 80-years-old.
My mother is the one who knows what really happened. But her behaviour started changing after she visited Mpilo Central Hospital where she was told that her youngest child had a heart problem and needed to be taken to Harare for treatment.
A source said the woman could have been involved in an illicit relationship with her employer’s husband resulting in the fall-out.
