HCC warns home seekers against purchasing stands at Eyestone as bogus developers swindle diasporans

Harare City Council’s corporate communications manager Mr Michael Chideme has warned potential home seekers, especially diasporans not to buy stands from individuals and organizations that are not the council. This comes as thousands of people have lost money to bogus land developers who are selling illegal stands at Eyestone Farm, which is owned by the Harare City Council. The conmen are using social media to advertise beautiful images of non-existent stands.

Said Chideme:

It has come to the attention of Harare City Council that there is an increase in the number of bogus land sellers, who are stealing from unsuspecting residents. The bogus sellers are using social media to con members of the public.

They use very beautiful pictures of completed houses and images of road construction. Harare City Council advises members of the public to always verify with council when they want to buy land for any development. Council offices are always open to assist residents making inquiries.
