High Court judge Justice Hlekani Mwayera ordered Lorraine Mationa to pay $8 000 to Georgina Njodzi for having an adulterous affair with her husband Lawrence Muzvondiwa Njodzi.
Georgina Njodzi had claimed $25 000, which was split into $15 000 for going out with her husband wit full knowledge that he was married (contumelia) and $10 000 for loss of her marriage (consortium). But Justice Mwayera reduced the claim to $8 000 for both contumelia and loss of consortium. Mationa who is a nurse at Harare Central Hospital had her constitutional application seeking to abolish adultery law by the High Court thrown out.
