Govt to buy textbooks worth $9 million for new curriculum

Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Dr Lazarus Dokora has revealed that his ministry will soon be buying textbooks and other learning materials which are in line with the new curriculum. The ministry is inviting bids for the supply of these materials.

In a speech read on his behalf recently by his deputy, Professor Paul Mavhima, Dr Dokora,

The Ministry would want to inform its valued stakeholders in the publishing and instrument making fraternities that it will soon be calling for tenders to those who would want to participate in supplying the teaching and learning materials.

Any submission beyond the cutoff date shall be considered in the next bulk procurement, notwithstanding what individual schools are able to do and are continuing to do. Those who submitted materials but have not received any responses from the Ministry should contact the Curriculum Development and Technical Services department before 31 August 2017.
