Zanu-PF probes councillor for illegally allocating stands & promising fake scholarships

Zanu-PF Matebeleland North Province is investigating Umguza Rural District Council Ward 17 Clr Moses Siphuma for illegally allocating stands and promising non-existent scholarships to aspiring university students using the party name.

The Chronicle reports that Councillor Siphuma is allocating land at a fee ranging between $30 and $300 and has promised 14 girls who completed their Advanced Levels that Umguza MP and Minister of Macro Economic Development and Investment Promotion Obert Mpofu was funding a scholarship for underprivileged youths to study at the Midlands State University (MSU). The issue came to light after beneficiaries of the said scholarship approached Mpofu for answers after MSU opened for its academic year and their fees was still unpaid.
