Grace Mugabe back in Zimbabwe after failing to appear in court for assaulting South African model

Al Jazeera reports that first lady, Grace Mugabe, has returned home from South Africa after failing to turn herself in to police in Johannesburg to face charges of assaulting a Gabriella Engels at The Capital Hotel in Sandton, South Africa.

Government sources who spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity confirmed she has returned home. A second official also confirmed to Reuters that Grace had returned and accused the news media of attempting to tarnish the first family’s name.

Jonathan Moyo said that Grace Mugabe does not become a fugitive by running away from South Africa. He tweeted:
