Mnangagwa taken to South Africa after health deteriorates following poisoning
Sources who spoke to NewsDay on condition of anonymity said that Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa was taken to South Africa in the company of his wife Auxillia to receive medical attention.
The sources also said that Mnangagwa was scheduled to meet with war veterans in Mwenezi yesterday, but did not show up. When contacted for comment by NewsDay, Zanu PF spokesperson Simon Khaya Moyo and Information deputy minister Thokozile Mathuthu declined to comment on the matter. Said Mathuthu:
It’s nothing to do with the public, it’s a personal issue. If someone has a flu and is not feeling well, why should the government issue a statement? It has got nothing to do with the government, you should talk to the Vice-President himself.
FeedbackMoyo said he was unaware Mnangagwa had been in hospital.
