MDC-T condemns attack on Khupe, promises perpetrators "to be punished in accordance with party disciplinary code of conduct"

The MDC-T has condemned the attack on Deputy President Thokozani Khuphe and some party regional leaders in Bulawayo on Sunday. Khuphe and party national chair Lovemore Moyo and organizing secretary, Abednico Bhebhe are thought to be opposed to the MDC-T joining a multiparty opposition alliance.

In a statement, MDC-T spokesperson, Obert Gutu said:

The MDC would like to condemn, in the strongest terms, all forms of violence against anyone.

The violent incident that took place at our party offices in Bulawayo will be thoroughly investigated and indeed, the office of the Arbiter-General of the party, is already seized with this matter.

We shall leave no stone unturned in ascertaining the exact cause of the unfortunate incident of senseless violence that led to the injury of several party members as well as destruction of party property.
