Confirmed: MDC Alliance to be launched on August 5

Zimbabwe’s opposition is set to launch a grand coalition which will be known as the MDC Alliance on August 5. The launch will be hosted at the Zimbabwe Grounds in Highfields, Harare.

Political parties in the MDC Alliance

Parties that will be part of the alliance are:

1. MDC-T : Morgan Tsvangirai
2. MDC : Welshman Ncube
3. PDP : Tendai Biti
4. Transform Zimbabwe : Jacob Ngarivhume
5. ZPF : Agrippa Mutambara
6. Zanu-Ndonga : Denford Musiyarira
7. Gerald Mubaiwa

The alliance will exclude National People’s Party leader Joice Mujuru who was one of the people who had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tsvangirai.
