Charamba dressed down by First Lady for biased reporting in state media

Presidential spokesperson and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, George Charmaba received a tongue lashing from First Lady Grace Mugabe, at today’s (Saturday) Youth Interface Rally in Chinhoyi.  Charamba came under fire for the alleged biased news coverage in state owned newspapers, The Herald and The Sunday Mail among others. Grace expressed her anger at the way the Zimpapers newspapers have been giving good coverage to certain people while attacking others continuously. For most of this year, the state owned media has been relentlessly attacking members of the G40 Faction, particularly Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Professor Jonathan Moyo and Zanu PF Political Commissar Saviour Kasukuwere.

Said, Grace:

Everyday we read about Kasukuwere. If its not him, then its Professor Moyo. People have gone to the extent of coming up with non-existent corruption cases

The first lady also reminded George Charamba of his station, telling him that he had no right to be fighting with Ministers as he was a subordinate to them.

What probably made it worse for the Presidential Spokesperson, is that he was asked to stand up before the First Lady proceeded to dress him down.
