Eyewitnesses say that Honda which was being driven by cops was speeding and caused accident which killed 11 people

Three police officers were part of the 11 people who died on Monday after a Honda CRV collided head-on with a Nissan Caravan before bursting into flames. The police officers from Centenary were transporting a murder and rape suspect. According to eye-witnesses, the Honda the officers were travelling in was speeding and failed to negotiate a curve:

One eyewitnesses who spoke to The Herald said:

I was sitting by the roadside herding cattle when the accident happened. The small vehicle was speeding from Mvurwi towards Centenary, and when it approached the curve the driver failed to negotiate, resulting in a head on collision with a commuter omnibus, which was coming from Centenary.

While one of the survivors of the accident said:

The commuter omnibus was not even speeding because it had just dropped another passenger a few metres away from here and the driver further reduced his speed when he saw the private vehicle coming towards his lane and tried to pull off the road but it was too late
