The messenger of court is reported to have started attaching property belonging to one Genius Chigwada, before his body had been buried last week. Chigwada had borrowed money from an unnamed bank for farming and when he died on the July 17, he still owed the bank $41 000. While his body was still lying-in-state at his home, the messenger of the court showed up and started attaching properties to settle the debt. This did not go down well with Chigwada’s relatives who felt that the messenger of court should have waited until at least after the burial.
Some of the properties taken include:
- 49 tonnes of Command maize harvest
- Buses
- A commuter omnibus
- A Grinding meal
